Soho Painters & Decorators
From the first room list to the final finish record.
A considered finish starts with connected decisions. Establish the surfaces and their condition, then resolve the materials, permissions and working arrangements against the same written brief.
Discuss your project
Set out the property and the intended change
Provide the full address, floor or unit and a description of the work you have in mind. Identify the occupier and the person able to instruct the commission. Mention dates that matter, but also explain the reason: a tenancy change, a restaurant closure or a room needed for daily use. That context helps define the questions to resolve first.
Put uncertainty into the brief
Flag coatings whose history is unknown, damaged surfaces and colour choices awaiting approval. State whether repairs or other trades are planned. An assessment may change the preparation needed, so avoid treating an unresolved condition as a settled decorating instruction. List any conservation or owner decisions required before the relevant part of the scope can proceed.
Accept the scope with its working conditions
Review the proposed surfaces, preparation, materials and protection beside the price and exclusions. Confirm the sequence, access arrangements and agreed hours, including responsibilities for clearing and reinstatement. Keep the final version available to the people authorising the work. Any subsequent change should identify its effect on the scope and programme before it is instructed.
Check the work by the agreed components
At the review stage, use the same room names and surface descriptions as the accepted proposal. Record any outstanding items and changes agreed during the commission. Retain the final product, colour and finish references with that record. A useful handover makes it possible to discuss a later touch-up or maintenance question against the actual completed work.
Tell us what you have in mind
A room. A frontage.
A place to begin.
Share the Soho property address and a short outline of the work. For occupied premises, add the hours the space can be released and any instructions from the person managing the building.
Introduce your project
A little about the rooms, their condition and your intended finish will help frame the conversation.
